Ecuador, known as the Republic of Ecuador in full, is one of the members of the Association of South American States, and it is located in the northwestern part of South America. On October 28, 2015, the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly re-elected members to the United Nations Human Rights Council, and Ecuador was successfully elected with a term from 2016 to 2018.
